Celebrate Disciple Partner!

The world has changed significantly over the last few years, and so has doing church. Many churches have had to move entirely online, and now that the pandemic has begun to lessen several have begun to meet in person once again. While some things seem to be returning back to normal, there will be some things that cannot. How do we move forward now?

Join us on August 20th as the CDP District gathers for a time of worship and discovery as we consider what it means to move forward in 2022 and beyond. This is also a time for us to reconnect and celebrate what amazing things God has been and is doing in our region. We will hear about the work happening in our fellow churches and welcome our newly credentialed ministers. We will also hear from a guest speaker to challenge us to consider what steps we should take as we continue to serve our communities.

But what is the real point of CDP CONNECT? It’s connection. What we have learned through the pandemic is that no one was ready for it, and everyone had to learn how to reinvent ministry on their own. But we are not alone. We are the Church of God of the Chesapeake, Delaware, and Potomac District. We are better together! The goal of CDP CONNECT is to connect pastors and lay leaders so that they can partner with each other to support the ministries of the Kingdom of God wherever they are needed. We want children’s leaders to connect and share what they have learned when it comes to engaging with kids in a post-pandemic world. We want our tech teams to connect and share what they experienced during the pandemic, and how they found ways to keep the church connected virtually. And we want our pastors to connect to share that God is not done working in CDP churches.

The goal? To Celebrate, Disciple, and Partner.

We want to stay connected after our gathering. We will have a few follow-up sessions planned for youth leaders, tech people, women’s ministers, and more to learn from each other and support the work done in each church in our district.

CDP CONNECT will take place at Cornerstone Church in Columbia, MD, but will also be made available online by live-streaming to our YouTube channel. Register in advance to let us know if you plan on coming in person or online and we will make sure you have the link to watch the event online.

Video Testimonies

We would like to show a video update from each church in the district. Pastors, consider recording a 2-3 minute video sharing a testimony of what God has been doing in your church this year. Also talk about how you and your church will move forward into 2023, and how you think the Church of God should move forward as well. Send your videos to cdpdistrict@gmail.com.
